Georgie DonaisGeorgie Donais is the director of mutable ARTS. She trained at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre and holds a Fine Arts degree with a major in dance performance from York University. Projects included a reconstruction of Doris Humphrey’s Two Ecstatic Themes: Circular Descent.
She has taken class from such renowned dance teachers as Peggy Baker, Julia Sasso, Pat Miner, Anna Blewchamp, Sarah Chase and Michael Trent, and has attended workshops with luminaries Irene Dowd, Christine Wright and Risa Steinburg, to name a few. Her musical training and experience is varied and extensive. She also sang the soprano part in Pergolesi's Stabat Mater as accompaniment to her own choreographic work, Mother Was Standing. Georgie’s training in aerial arts has included workshops with Elsie Smith-Fornichon of New England Center for Circus Arts and Fred Deb' of Cie Drapes Aeriens. She is currently studying with Born To Fly Aerial in their teacher-training program, and has attended an intensive at Toronto School of Circus Arts. Sabrina Pringle of Femmes Du Feu was her first aerial arts teacher. She spent a decade creating design and layout for Canada's national dance magazine The Dance Current, and was associate art director of OUR HOMES magazine before opening the studio. |
