In-person class updates in response to COVID-19:
- ⚠️ Everyone age 12 years and older attending the studio, including those in tot & caregiver classes, is required to show QR code proof of vaccination against COVID-19. The second dose must be two weeks before that day's date.
- Most of our in-studio dance classes have an online option, so that students that would rather attend from home can do so. Contact us for details.
- Classes that do not reach full enrolment may be combined or cancelled.
- We have implemented enhanced cleaning protocols, and augment ventilation during classes by keeping our outside doors ajar whenever possible.
- Only class participants are allowed in the studio; caregivers are asked to wait outside or in their vehicle.
- Tot & caregiver classes are subject to a one-child-per-adult ratio, and all children attending class must be enrolled in that class. Exceptions may be made for current students who are older siblings of enrolled toddlers, on a pre-arranged case-by-case basis, depending on space availability.
- Makeup classes can be attended virtually; in-studio makeup classes may be available on a case-by-case basis. Classes missed because of snow days, holidays or other cancellations will not be rescheduled.
- Designated dance spaces have been marked out in the studio.
- Masks are required to be worn at all times for all students, except for children in Discover With Me classes (accompanying adults still wear theirs at all times). Provincial regulations require that all students age two and older are required to wear a mask when entering and exiting the building.
- Students are to wear their masks when using the washroom.
- At this time, only students with back-to-back classes are allowed to bring food into the studio.
- Class start/stop times may change to accommodate requirements.
- If in-studio dance class capacity levels are temporarily reduced through official order, we then move to a rotating schedule where each week where some students attend class remotely while the rest attend at the studio.
- In the event of a government-issued stay-at-home directive given during the session, in-studio DANCE classes may move online until authorized to return. In that case, students will need access to a cleared space of around six feet by six feet with a floor that is safe to dance on, plus an internet-enabled device and an internet connection. Other items will be needed on a class-by-class basis. If dance classes do not move online, dance fees will be put on pause.
- In the event of a government- issued stay-at-home directive given during the session, all in-studio AERIAL classes and fees will be paused and will resume when we are allowed to return to in-studio classes. In this case, all aerial students are welcome to join any online dance classes offered at their level for no extra charge.
- All class inquiries and fee payments are to happen online or over the phone.
- Tuition is charged in monthly instalments through automatic credit card charge. Email us by the fifth of the month if your student will not be continuing the following month. Fees for each upcoming month will be posted to your account and charged to the credit card on file on the seventh of the current month. Other payment methods require advance payment of three months at a time. Contact us for details.
What attending in-studio class looks like:
- ⚠️ Students are required by Public Health to be ACTIVELY SCREENED every time before coming to to the studio. We have created a fill-in form available through your online account to make this process easy and simple! On the day of class, just login to your online account, scroll down to Quick Links, choose Attendance, and follow the prompts. To see a video on how to check in from your phone, click here. This online form must be completed BEFORE a student enters the studio.
- Ill and COVID-19-exposed students are required to stay home, where they are welcome to join us remotely instead. Email us by noon on the day of class so we can set up the remote connection.
- Students get fully dressed in clean dance wear at home, adding extra layers that they can move in, as it may be cold in the studio (i.e., a sweater, a toque, clean socks).
- Students arrive at the studio no more than five minutes before class, and wait in their vehicle. When the instructor props open the door, students put on their mask, and enter the studio one at a time, sanitizing their hands at the door. Students go straight to their designated dance spots. Students bring their dance bag, outside clothes and water bottle with them, and place against the wall near their designated dance space.
- Students each have an assigned dance spot. Some classes may incorporate across-the-floor movements, as allowed by Public Health for sport and recreation activities.
- At the end of class, the instructor sends students out the front door one-by-one to meet their waiting caregivers. ⚠️ Adults, please exit your vehicle and stand near to the studio; students are not allowed to cross the parking lot on their own. Students arriving for the next class wait outside or in their cars until invited into the building by the instructor.
- Class begins and ends on time, and caregivers are asked to pick up their students promptly, as the studio must be empty in order for staff to prepare the studio between classes.
Students are reminded to:
- Maintain a minimum of six feet physical distance from other students and staff when waiting outside the studio, when entering and leaving the studio, and when going to and from the washroom.
- Go to their designated dance or aerial space, and remain there until instructed by the teacher.
- Refrain from touching their face.
- ⚠️ Go to the washroom at home before leaving for class, and fill water bottles at home.
